Ask and Ye Shall Receive

Webmasters are constantly complaining about their sites
visitors never coming back, or not having enough outside
links to their own Web sites.

But the simple fact of the matter is that most site
owners take a passive approach when it comes to accomplishing
promotional goals. They don't 'ask' for what they want,
so of course, they don't get it.

Here are a few ways to ask for what you want, and actually
make it happen:

1) Ask Your Web Sites Visitors to Bookmark Your Site.

At the tops and bottoms of your Web pages, you can have
a sentence that says, "If you loved this site, be sure
to bookmark it, and come back on a regular basis. We're
always added new stuff!"

I've noticed, from consulting with many new Netpreneurs,
that they will do exactly what you ask - IF you ask.

2) Ask Visitors For Suggestions on Making Your Site
   Better.

Many Webmasters find out the hard way that their
ideal Web site doesn't always match their prospects
ideal Web site. Often they end up making crazy
changes, and all of a sudden hits ferociously
plummet to the bottom of the barrel.

A better way to implement changes is to place a sec-
tion on your site which asks for comments and
suggestions. Of course not everybody will send
you a comment, but you'll probably get some very
interesting insights from the ones who do.

3) Ask People to Link to Your Site.

I've seen a few Web sites which actively ask for
links, and even provide graphical buttons and banners.
And in my travels, I've noticed that many people
actually DO provide a link. Imagine that... Free
advertising, just for asking!
